Madeleine Derveloy is a diversely skilled and highly creative Media Producer and Cinematographer/Gaffer with a passion for bringing bold visions to life through storytelling, collaboration, and precision. With an MFA in Visual Media Arts from Emerson College and recognition from various film festivals, Madeleine’s work spans media production, directing, and instruction.

She specializes in streamlining on-set workflows—coordinating production elements, managing equipment logistics, and aligning cross-functional teams to stay on time and on point. Whether she’s behind the camera or in the editing suite, Madeleine ensures every frame supports a compelling, cohesive narrative.

Equally at home in high-volume environments and artistic collaborations, Madeleine thrives at the intersection of efficiency and creativity, always focused on delivering powerful, polished content that connects.

 

Artist Statement

 

The world around us is so vast that there are too many things to experience in one lifetime. But that is not something that scares me. I want to spend my life exploring and interacting with all aspects of the world that I possibly can. I want to use my filmmaking, animation, and multimedia art skills to help interact, probe, understand and explore the world around me and share it with others. 

 

Growing up in a small town in the deep south, I learned very quickly what was expected of me. I was to go to college, get married, have children and settle down until my inevitable death. I thought that there was nowhere to go but this small town. Until I moved. I left my home, the only home I knew, and had to change my expectations against my will. It killed me. 

 

But through this I was reborn. I rose from the ashes with no clear cut expectations. I could do whatever I was passionate about. And through this revelation, I found theatre, painting, and film. But not only did I find my passion but I found a new home, a new sense of belonging, an adventure, in art. 

 

My purpose in life is to pass down my passion and help others find their way through art. Through a film, someone can feel like they belong. Through a painting, someone can see the beauty that exists in a different world. Through photos, someone can be inspired to see the world. I want to share my world to show people that your passion, your home, your own path in life is possible and it is whatever you want it to be.
